Evolution Of Hair

My hair is always changing from colour to colour and style to style. Because of this I always seem to look different in each photograph that is taken of me. I personally feel that a women's hair is an extension of herself and how she is feeling that day. The main changes in  my hair has occurred over the last few months, so I thought I would show the journey.

For a short while my hair was Copper, out of all the colours which I had my hair this was one of my favourite. However the colour faded within about 4 day even though it was a permanent dye, because of this the hair way re-dyed 4 times to I eventually gave up and changed it.

After the Copper my hair was dyed Purple, this photograph shows the colour when first dyed. Overall the colour tone was really nice and lightened up to the correct colour (shown) after a few washes. Even though the colour was applied straight over the previous it was not patchy and took well.

However the more the dye washed out the more the colour lightened and changed, it also seemed to get brighter shade of Purple. This was not really an issue as this photograph was just taken 4 weeks after first colouring and just before it was re-dyed the same colour. The extra growth on my natural hair allowed me to play with different styles, in this photo I used a small barrelled curling iron to put tight curls into my hair.

The same shade was re-applied in this photograph, as you can see the colour is much darker. The style of my hair in this photograph is a classic 1950's curl style with the rolled fringe and curls pinned back each side. I used a hair flower to finish the look.

I eventually got bored of the Purple hair, so I dyed my hair completely black. However the colour is not the only thing to change in this photo. I am also wearing 14inch remy hair extension, about a year ago I started to wear extension so that I had more choice and styles in which I could wear my hair. After wearing my hair short for month (natural length) it was time to buy some new extension to play with, I do not wear my extensions all the time as they can be time consumer but worth it if you are thinking about using them.

Back to the 1950's!

This original vintage dress from the 1950's has to be one of my favourite vintage pieces that I own. The full circle skirt can be worn with and without a petticoat (pictured without) and the colourful pattern is perfect for all seasons. This dress was bought from a vintage clothes fair 4 years ago and at the time only cost around £15.00, which is an incredible price for this piece.
